Going Home 16 x 20 Limited Edition Print

$40.00

The background was painted using watercolor and I mixed real sand into it to give a textural feel.

I then used a wide variety of flowers to create the design.  The Moon and Stars were made out of copper.

16 X 20, signed and numbered print, edition size 500.

This piece of artwork was created using many different techniques and materials. I painted the back ground using various paints and some sand for texture. The idea behind this was to visualize the 'landscapes' of our lives. This has a spiritual feeling to it, thus the title Going Home. I created this to process my grief over my sister and my boyfriend who passed within 2 years of each other. I used real pressed flowers to create my design. Daffodils, bachelor buttons, larkspur, babies breath, etc....and the columbine are like dancing spirits rising above and up into the spiritual realm. I used real copper for the sun and moon and stars, my boyfriend was a copper artist and these came from him.

This piece of artwork was a very cathartic expression for me. I had 500 prints run and signed and numbered each one. This piece became a conversation piece while selling at art shows.

Everybody has lost someone and many people could relate to the art. Many tears and hugs with strangers who I then felt a connection with. I hope the purchase of this print brought them a sense of comfort and joy and a feeling of peace.
